Job Description

Mutual of Omaha is seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team within the Receipts function in the Omaha, Nebraska metro area or remote. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of end‑to‑end reconciliations for complex, high‑volume accounts. T

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a passion for process improvement, and an energetic, collaborative approach—actively engaging with partners across teams to drive timely clearing and consistently meet daily and month-end deadlines.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will take a proactive, highly collaborative approach—using OneStream to resolve exceptions, communicate findings, and partner across the organization to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  •  Estimated Base Salary: $80,000-$90,000, plus annual bonus opportunity. 
  • 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Complete daily and month‑end reconciliations for complex, high‑volume cash accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Exercise strong critical thinking and attention to detail when analyzing reconciling items and root causes. Demonstrate strong follow‑up skills to drive resolution of open items and aging balances.
  • Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives, including automation, workflow efficiencies, and standardization.
  • Assist with the implementation of new administrative systems or products, system upgrades, and other enhancements impacting new cash accounts while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Demonstrates a strong, humble ideal team player mindset—positive, open minded, flexible through change, eager to learn, and able to work well with others to support a collaborative, high performing team culture.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years’ experience completing high-volume complex accounts reconciliations.
  • Proven experience leading projects or actively driving project outcomes
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reconciliation techniques.
  • Ability to establish and execute against deadlines.
  • Ability to work with and maintain secure and confidential information as well as escalate data breach or issues if they occur.
  • Communicates effectively verbally, non-verbally and in written formats, with peers and internal business partners while tailoring content and approach to the intended audience.
  • Attention to detail and follow-up, analytical acumen, and excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple and competing priorities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to work at our home office located in Omaha, Nebraska, in a hybrid environment. 

PREFERRED:

  • Knowledge of accounting systems used in an insurance industry environment.
  • Understanding of statutory accounting and/or insurance business processes.
  • Technical skills to understand how financial data flows through the Company systems.
