Job Description
Internal Job Title: Transportation Specialist II
Reports To: Director, SilverLink Logistics
FLSA Status: Exempt, Full Time
Location: US, Remote
External Job Title: Dispatch Specialist, Dairy
Position Summary
The Transportation Specialist is responsible for ensuring efficient and customer-focused dairy logistics within Ever.Ag’s SilverLink Logistics division. This position creates and manages load plans, addresses real-time logistics challenges such as plant outages and weather events, and conducts cost and service analysis to identify and implement performance improvements. The Transportation Specialist works closely with major dairy companies, cooperatives, and haulers, gaining expertise in dispatch operations, rate benchmarking, procurement, compliance, and performance tracking. This primarily remote role requires flexibility to occasionally work after hours and includes some travel for industry events and meetings.
Key Responsibilities

Become an integral part of the logistics team to ensure prompt and effective customer service, while handling day-to-day client interactions and finding solutions to logistical challenges.

Frequent use of scheduling platforms and processes.

Work on varying assignments which may include occasional after-hours.

Collaborate with leadership toward continuous improvement of services provided to customers.

Monitor and ensure hauler performance and compliance to mitigate business and liability risks.

Stay updated on transportation industry developments to provide expertise to customers.
-
Report important changes in customer or hauler needs to leadership and/or affected team members.
-
Facilitate accurate hauler payment.
-
Engage in internal team activities.
-
Provide expertise on team consulting projects.
-
Perform other duties as assigned.

Some travel representing the Ever.Ag Transportation Team at outside events.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in transportation, business or related field preferred, but not required for an exceptionally qualified candidate
-
2-5 Years of transportation experience in operations/dispatch, procurement, safety and/or regulatory compliance
-
Proven passion for serving customers and solving logistics problems
-
Demonstrated initiative in responding to after-hours needs
-
Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills with customers and internal team members
-
Moderate Microsoft Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and/or Power BI
-
Proven ability to learn and use load planning and tracking software
-
Dairy industry experience and knowledge preferred

Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations preferred
