Job Description
Role Description
This role involves the development of Concept Notes for the prioritized actions of Belize’s Multi-sectoral National Adaptation Plan.
- Develop and submit three (3) Concept Notes tailored to the GCF.
- Conduct pre-feasibility studies for the prioritized actions identified under the Climate Financing Strategy.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders including government agencies, community groups, and private sector organizations.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in economics, climate financing, natural sciences, project development, management or a related field.
- At least 10 years’ experience in climate change finance and/or development of Strategic Climate Financing.
- Experience working in climate change adaptation plans in the 5 priority sectors.
- Proven understanding of the Global and National Climate Finance landscape and procedures.
- Familiarity with Green Climate Fund (GCF) policies, templates, and requirements for climate financing.
Requirements
- Demonstrate expertise in Concept Note Development within the 5 priority areas of Belize’s MNAP.
- Successful development and approval of multilateral funded projects specifically the Green Climate Fund.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams and independently.
- Experience working in the Caribbean region.

Submission and Approval of Reports
- Produce reports/deliverables as indicated in the scope of work.
- Incorporate comments and inputs from stakeholders within 15 days of receipt.
- Submit ten (10) hard copies and one (1) electronic copy of each concept note and report.
