Role Description

This is a fully remote position, but candidates will be required to work EST hours.

  • Manages existing business relationships by developing and implementing sound retention strategies.
  • Utilizes strong negotiation efforts to preserve business and secure contract agreements from previously non-contracted customers.
  • Handles all retention requests and provides ongoing education of contract details to existing customers.
  • Obtains customer contract commitments during face-to-face interactions.
  • Resolves all escalations for customer service within the book of business.
  • Establishes and maintains a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Communicates with the Retention Manager to resolve unique customer issues.
  • Increases revenue and profitability by executing sound plans on retention calls.
  • Matches WM services with customer needs by demonstrating knowledge of customers, pricing, and competition.
  • Proposes customer solutions compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Updates and secures customer service agreements.
  • Effectively uses WM sales productivity software tools (i.e., Prospect and Customer Database, Proposal Program, Pricing Tools, etc.).
  • Acquires in-depth industry and company knowledge to prepare complex proposals and make recommendations on equipment optimization and leasing options.

Qualifications

  • Must live and work in the US.
  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
  • Two (2) years of relationship management experience in environmental, waste or related service industry.
  • Ability to generate reports, general business correspondence, present information and respond to questions for managers, clients, and the public.
  • Significant knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrate exceptional presentation skills.
