The coder is responsible for properly coding and auditing professional services for inpatient and outpatient technical services to ensure accuracy and optimal reimbursement. This includes reviewing documentation, assigning codes, and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines.

The Manager of Clinical Documentation Integrity provides daily oversight to the Clinical Documentation Integrity Team, working with specialists, clinicians, and coders to ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation in the medical record. Duties include supervising all phases of the Clinical Documentation process, developing education plans for medical staff, and disseminating program productivity reports.

The role involves providing meaning to data within UTMB systems by developing methods to leverage that data in applications, including standardizing data, building prediction models, and developing metrics for complex data analysis projects. Responsibilities also include utilizing business intelligence tools to create actionable reports, dashboards, and forecasts, while collaborating with IT colleagues and clients to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
