Role Description

This role involves supporting a Partner in the Workers' Compensation practice as an Administrative Legal Assistant.

  • Manage and maintain the Partner's calendar, proactively anticipating scheduling conflicts and priorities
  • Schedule and coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, and field inspections across multiple parties
  • Liaise professionally with opposing and outside counsel, clients, mediators, and vendors
  • Draft correspondence, legal documents, and case materials with accuracy and rigorous attention to detail
  • Calendar and track all deadlines, hearings, depositions, and mediations — ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
  • Act as point of contact and resource for all administrative functions for the Partner's Unit
  • Manage a high case count — organizing tasks, monitoring calendar accuracy, and ensuring all matters are addressed on time
  • Support discovery processes, scheduling, and client communications as the practice demands
  • Provide coverage and assistance to other legal assistants as opportunities arise, maintaining team continuity and quality

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or comparable legal support role — Workers' Compensation background strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency managing complex attorney calendars and deadline-driven workflows
  • Strong command of legal document drafting, formatting, and Florida filing procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with counsel, clients, and vendors
  • Highly organized with the ability to independently manage competing priorities in a fully remote environment
  • Familiarity with Florida court procedures, e-filing systems, and legal practice management software
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential matters
  • Ability to perform billable legal support tasks with accuracy and accountability
  • Reliable home office setup with a strong, stable internet connection
