Role Description

USTA PNW is looking for a Community Engagement and Recruiting Coordinator who thrives on building relationships and connecting people to opportunity. In this role, you’ll partner with schools, student athletes, workforce development organizations, and local partners to build strong talent pipelines and help fill open roles across our organization. This role plays a critical role in expanding access to opportunity, strengthening community partnerships, and building a diverse, talented workforce that reflects the PNW communities we serve.

  • Build and maintain relationships with high schools, colleges, athletic departments, student athlete programs, community partners, and workforce development organizations.
  • Develop creative outreach strategies to engage diverse talent pools and hard-to-reach candidates.
  • Partner on campaigns, resources, and collateral to engage with community members in the areas we serve through grass-roots efforts, social media campaigns, and job postings on diverse networks.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers and internal teams to understand workforce needs and align recruiting efforts.
  • Educate candidates on career pathways, job requirements, and growth opportunities within the organization.
  • Track outreach efforts, candidate pipelines, and recruiting outcomes to measure impact.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for USTA PNW at career fairs, school events, community events, and recruitment activities.
  • Support inclusive hiring initiatives and community-based talent development programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in recruiting, community outreach, workforce development, education, or a related field.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Comfort engaging with a wide range of audiences, including students, coaches, educators, and community leaders.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while staying aligned with internal teams.
  • Passion for connecting people to opportunity and supporting workforce growth.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within PNW as needed.
  • Must reside in the geographical area being served to best service the community (preferred Oregon or Washington residency).
  • Proven strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong self-starter experience.
  • Experience in successfully reaching goals and short timelines.
  • General knowledge of the region and major recreational providers and school districts desired.
  • Strong computer and digital platform skills.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive under pressure.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass background checks and Motor Vehicle check.
  • Must be able to prove authorization to work in the United States per our E-Verify vendor.
  • Must have the ability to be SafePlay approval and remain SafePlay approved throughout tenure at USTA PNW.
  • Must complete the required USTA SafeSport online education course. Link provided with offer of employment. Online course takes approximately 90 minutes and you will be paid for your time.
  • Must sign USTA PNW Offer Letter, Employee Handbook, and all required policies and procedures as needed.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay ranging from $18-$20 per hour based on experience and outlined in Offer Letter.
  • Eligible for state-mandated Sick Time accrual and usage.
  • Employee and Career Development focus and assets provided to each employee.

  • Employer-owned laptop/computer, cell phone, cell phone plan, printer, and other appropriate home office equipment provided by the employer.
