Job Description

• Establish positive, trusting rapport with clients. • Diagnose and treat mental health disorders. • Create and update individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances. • Meet with patients regularly to provide services and treatment, and to adjust treatment plans as necessary. • Coordinate and arrange for services needed for each individual client. • Conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress. • Conduct group therapy sessions according to program schedule. • Involve and advise family members when appropriate. • Refer patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary. • Maintain thorough records of patient meetings and progress. • Follow all safety protocols and maintain client confidentiality. • Communicate regularly with outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care. • Attend weekly staff meetings to consult on individual cases. • Attend weekly treatment team meetings to consult with clients about individual progress. • Create weekly individualized therapeutic and experiential opportunities for clients and communicate them to patients. • Conduct concurrent insurance reviews for individual clients. • Engage in ongoing advocacy work for mental health parity. • Engage in community based speaking opportunities to increase eating disorder awareness.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field.
  • Must be fully licensed in CA, NY, and/or MA and can work without supervision.
  • Able to get licensure in other states when asked.
  • Experience treating clients with Eating Disorders.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of a variety of models and theories of eating disorders, trauma, mental illness, and related issues.
  • Knowledge of philosophies, practices, policies and outcomes of models of treatment, recovery, relapse prevention, and continuing care for dually diagnosed populations.
  • Understanding of diagnostic criteria for co-occurring conditions and ability to conceptualize modalities and placement criteria within the continuum of care.
  • Understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into practice settings.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
