Job Description
• Writing engaging and accurate product descriptions for A&F, kids, baby/toddler, and YPB
• Maintaining consistent copy structure and voice across all product categories and brands
• Ensuring legal compliance of product claims across all product descriptions
• Working closely with site merch to ensure a consistent, seamless customer experience
• Brainstorming unique, ownable product names for OPM (on-product marketing)
• Writing editorial/romanticized language to define collections and key items on-product
• Closely collaborating with design to execute hangtags and OPM
• Owning the color naming process for all brands in collaboration with the studio team
• Staying on top of fashion trends and language, including competitor product naming
• Helping communicate key OPM moments through to seasonal campaign concepting
• Editing copy based on leadership feedback, changes to product, trends, performance, etc.
• Staying curious and up-to-date on fashion trends and industry standard language
• Performing and sharing competitive research with the team to inform copy going forward
• Participating in team collaborations to strengthen the culture, share knowledge, and serve as the subject matter expert from a product perspective
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in English, Creative Writing or Advertising/Copywriting, or related experience
- 1+ years of copywriting experience, preferably in the retail/product copy space
- A portfolio showcasing your technical writing ability, relentless attention to detail, and grammar proficiency - please include any samples of creative writing if it helps convey your editorial copywriting/product naming skills
- Basic knowledge of marketing principles
- Strong written/verbal communication & exceptional editing skills
- Seamless ability to operate autonomously with strong time management skills and a self-starter mindset
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Open to constructive criticism in collaborative environments and can quickly action upon
- An ongoing interest in fashion and familiarity with our brand/competitors
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel & Teams mandatory, experience with Mural and PIM helpful but not required.
