Job Description
Role Description
The Prior Authorization/Centralized Scheduler will be the healthcare access representative to patients and/or providers utilizing positive public relations skills when scheduling patient visits or procedures.
- Pre-register patients and schedule appointments using the applicable program
- Obtain authorization and verify medical necessity
- Handle all aspects of the prior authorization process
- Assist healthcare professionals or patients to experience the ideal patient encounter with friendly, courteous assistance and high level of professionalism
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of patient information and test orders while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
Qualifications
- High School or GED
- Medical Assistant
- Minimum one (1) year medical front office experience, preferably within an acute healthcare system
