Job Description

• Overseeing the identification, assessment, and management of environmental and engineering risks related to commercial real estate transactions and existing portfolio assets. • Conducting due diligence, reviewing third-party reports, providing expert advice to internal stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to Citi's risk policies and industry best practices. • Performing comprehensive environmental and engineering risk assessments for new commercial real estate loans, acquisitions, and portfolio assets. • Preparing detailed reports summarizing findings, recommending risk mitigation strategies, and providing clear, concise actionable advice to credit officers, portfolio managers, and legal teams. • Ensuring all environmental and engineering risk management activities comply with internal Citi policies, industry standards, and relevant federal, state, and local environmental regulations. • Collaborating closely with internal credit, legal, workout, and asset management teams to integrate environmental and engineering risk considerations into decision-making processes. • Assisting in ongoing monitoring of portfolio assets for emerging environmental or physical risks.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in environmental and/or engineering risk management within the commercial real estate or financial services industry
  • Demonstrated experience conducting and reviewing environmental site assessments (Phase I & II ESAs) and property condition assessments (PCAs)
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and their application to commercial real estate
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex technical reports
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
