Job Description
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, tooling, and visualizations that make member insights widely available across the company
• Identify, compute, and validate the appropriate data sources and metrics to measure success in a product area
• Partner with data engineers to design and implement a data architecture that bridges across experimentation, analytics, and operational reporting
• Partner with product managers and engineering to conduct forensic investigations into logging, including real-time monitoring of new features the team is launching to support live events
• Proactively explore trends in member engagement to surface future opportunities
• Cultivate strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders
• Coach partners to self-serve with existing tools, and evangelize for scaled approaches to expand data access and insights beyond our team
Job Requirements
- Passion for using data to see Netflix from the eyes of our members
- Exceptional communication with technical and non-technical audiences; highly effective at developing meaningful stakeholder relationships and deep domain expertise
- Comfort with ambiguity; ability to thrive with minimal oversight and process
- Highly fluent in SQL for working with big data; familiarity with dbt is a plus
- Proficient with scripting languages such as Python
- Experienced in engineering data pipelines and orchestrating workflows
- Passion for exploring and improving technical datasets and logging
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices (e.g. source control, code reviews, unit testing)
