Role Description

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst position is two-fold: it is responsible for gathering, scrubbing, and analyzing data, and also for using that data to facilitate more effective strategic business decisions.

  • Works directly with key stakeholders to understand the business environment, processes, and objectives.
  • Evaluates business processes for efficiency, cost, and other value metrics.
  • Communicates insights with business teams.
  • Prepares and presents recommendations for process adjustments, procedures, and performance improvements.
  • Utilizes data and mathematical optimization modeling to translate business needs into technical and data-driven solutions.
  • Proficient in the use of query and reporting analysis tools for standardized data collection, integrity checks, and analysis.
  • Uses SQL to extract data from databases and data warehouses.
  • Presents and communicates extracted data using business intelligence tools like Power BI.
  • Designs validation reports, databases, and presentation reports using Microsoft Excel.
  • Troubleshoots potential and known issues.
  • Works independently in support of objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or related field (may substitute equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience.
  • Highly proficient with SQL, both in coding queries and procedures and interpretation of code.
  • Highly proficient with either Tableau or Power BI analysis tools.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in mathematical optimization modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with coding languages, such as Java, preferred.
  • Strong accounting knowledge and financial acumen related to budgets and financial statements.
  • Strong collaboration skills to develop a firm understanding of the organization’s objectives, procedures, and operations.
  • Ability to evaluate business processes and translate business needs into technical and data-driven solutions.
  • Critical thinking and strategic business skills.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  • Strong understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling and database design.
  • Able to learn new software applications with minimal instruction.
  • Self-starter with strong communication skills.
  • Able to independently address complex problems and respond to data analysis and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
  • Able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings, as appropriate.

Compensation

The annual compensation range for this position is $76,388.00-$93,964.00.

Remote employees must reside in the following states: AK, AL, CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, KY, LA, MD, MA, MS, NC, OH, OK, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA.
