Role Description
The Mountain West Region is seeking a dedicated individual to provide comprehensive administrative support for multiple areas across the Region (Eastern Washington, North Idaho, Montana, and Northern Wyoming) as well as the Regional staff team. This role will involve assisting staff members with various tasks, both data-oriented and relational, to enhance their effectiveness in leading their respective areas and teams. The ideal candidate will be proactive, resourceful, and possess strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with multiple teams remotely. Candidate is required to live within 90 minutes of Spokane, WA.
Responsibilities
- Proactive Engagement: Anticipate and address the administrative needs of each area 1-3 months ahead of time. Management of lists and spreadsheets related to donors, community outreach, leaders, students, etc. Work alongside area staff to drive tasks remotely, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.
- Task Management: Receive weekly task and action item assignments from each area and regional team. Coordinate with area and regional staff to prioritize tasks and ensure clarity on expectations.
- System Proficiency: Become proficient in Young Life's major systems including: Workday, YL Connect, Google Suite, WebConnex, Tofino Auctions, and social media. Utilize these systems to create resources and support area and regional staff as needed.
- Communication Strategy and Execution: Collaborate with areas and the regional team to develop communication plans with donors and communities, ensuring quality and consistency in sharing the vision of Young Life.
- Graphic Design: Use graphic tools to create visuals (flyers, reports, presentations, social media, etc) for a variety of audiences.
- Camp System Support: Provide focused support within the camping systems, especially during the periods leading up to each area's camp trips. Communicating with parents, tracking camp payments and designing systems to manage fundraisers and ordering supplies.
- Event Support: Assist with 1-2 events per year for each area. Offering in-person help as requested and discerned by the team. Provide focused support of event logistics and anticipation of upcoming tasks and workflow.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Command of written language to effectively edit publications for consistency, grammar and clarity.
- Ability to work independently and proactively to identify tasks and problem solve.
- Ability to become proficient in the systems listed above.
- Previous experience in administrative support or similar roles preferred.
- Knowledge of Young Life's mission and values is a plus.
- Alignment with and commitment to Mountain West regional values.
- Living within 90 mins of Spokane, WA.

- The anticipated hourly/salary can range from $17.30-$21.45, depending on relevant education, experience, and location.

Experience Required For The Job
- Previous administrative assistant experience preferred.
- Ability to type 55 to 60 words per minute with few errors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (which includes Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and processes with the capability of handling concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.
- Good grammar skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Basic accounting skills.
- Detail oriented multi-tasking ability.
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
- Initiative with developing processes/systems around events – data organization and maintenance.
- Great customer service skills.
