Job Description
Role Description
This role involves owning release confidence across our web platform and mobile apps. You will define how quality is designed, measured, and enforced.
- Define release readiness criteria and drive go/no-go decisions
- Eliminate black-box testing and implement transparent regression tracking
- Embed QA into sprint refinement and feature design
- Define regression strategy by domain (billing, scheduling, authorization, claims, data import)
- Create test traceability from story to execution
- Build test data strategies for complex workflow validation
- Design and prioritize automation roadmap
- Manual and exploratory testing across web and mobile
- API-level validation
- Validate complex business rules and billing logic
- Build and maintain automation suites (ACCELQ or similar)
- Partner with engineering to improve unit and integration test coverage
- Mentor and direct QA execution (US, nearshore, offshore)
- Drive shift-left thinking across engineering
- Define quality metrics and defect escape analysis
- Communicate risk clearly and decisively
Qualifications
- 5+ years QA experience with release ownership
- Experience testing web and mobile applications
- Experience building or designing automation frameworks (codeless or coded)
- Strong familiarity with Azure DevOps (boards, test plans, pipelines)
- Understanding of CI/CD workflows
- Experience testing complex business logic or configuration-driven systems
- Healthcare or HIPAA experience preferred
- Experience in EHR, billing, or regulated software strongly preferred
Requirements
- You take ownership of outcomes, not task completion
- You can articulate release risk clearly and confidently
- You think in systems, not test scripts
- You are comfortable challenging engineering and product when risk exists
- You reduce ambiguity and bring structure to complex processes
- You are hands-on and comfortable testing across UI, API, and data layers
- You have experience owning release processes in production systems
Benefits
- Remote-first role (Nashville or Fort Worth proximity is a plus, not a requirement)
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Medical insurance with employer contribution
- HSA with employer contribution
- Dental insurance available (employee-paid)
- 401(k) with employer match
- Flexible PTO with an expectation that people actually take time off
- Paid parental leave
What Success Looks Like
- Within 45 days: You can clearly articulate regression scope and current quality gaps; you introduce structured release readiness reporting
- Within 90 days: Regression visibility is transparent; release confidence improves measurably; defect escape trend is being tracked and analyzed; engineering trusts your risk assessments
- Within 6 months: Quality is proactive, not reactive; automation coverage is expanding strategically; offshore QA execution is structured and effective; leadership no longer has to interrogate status updates
