Job Description

This is a high-impact, hands-on technical leadership role designed to transform the way engineers interact with code and development tools at scale. You will architect and lead the “Golden Path” for development, ensuring that the journey from IDE to production is seamless, fast, and intuitive. The role covers local development environments, CI/CD pipelines, AI tooling consolidation, and software standardization. You will influence hundreds of engineers across multiple teams, optimizing workflows, build systems, and testing strategies to maximize productivity. This position combines deep technical expertise with mentorship, cross-team collaboration, and strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. Your work will directly increase organizational efficiency, developer satisfaction, and overall engineering velocity. Architecting and maintaining the “Golden Path,” standardizing IDE setups, plugins, configurations, and internal tooling to reduce cognitive load. Owning the bootstrapping process for new services and optimizing local development workflows, including Docker environments. Leading build system modernization (e.g., migration to Turborepo) to minimize build and test latencies. Consolidating AI tools, selecting and implementing a unified suite for consistent adoption and efficiency. Partnering with AppSec and engineering teams to manage library versions, enforce security, and maintain system-wide standards. Designing CI/CD pipelines, YAML workflows, automated checks, and self-service deployment systems. Implementing automated testing strategies and quality gates to enable shift-left testing and robust workflows.

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years in software engineering or developer productivity roles, with proven leadership at a Staff Engineer level.
  • Deep experience with monorepos, Docker, and modern CI/CD platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive consensus and mentor senior engineers across multiple product teams.
  • Strong automation mindset, focused on reducing repetitive tasks and improving organizational efficiency.
  • Experience building or maintaining internal developer platforms (IDPs) and developer tooling ecosystems.
  • Empathy-driven approach, treating developers as customers and removing friction from their workflows.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, remote environment.
