Job Description

You will provide our NAVSEA/NSWC/MSC Technical and Program Office clients with expert technical support in developing the next Navy ships at our onsite work location/remote. Perform as a key engineering lead directly supporting key clients Be a recognized technical leader among colleagues and team members Perform engineering tasking on programs supporting aircraft carriers, combatants, amphibious and auxiliary ships Lead critical engineering efforts across various ship design programs Advise and support Ship Design Managers, Program/Project Managers, Systems Engineering Managers, Task Leads, and colleagues Ensure Naval and Commercial Engineering Standards and Quality Assurance Processes are met Mentor junior engineers and coordinate teammates Stay current in modern ship design requirements, analysis, and emerging technologies Support technical proposal development as needed

Job Requirements

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Engineering (BSE/BE), BS/AS in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) or marine engineering; or similar background
  • 8-15 years of experience with five years in US Naval Ship Engineering
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to become proficient in researching digital databases
  • Ability to read and decipher technical electrical documentation
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to speak and write clearly in English
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time
  • Capable of performing verification shipchecks onboard MSC and Navy ships
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Five years of experience performing as a key lead of NAVSEA or MSC engineering team projects
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree
  • Professional Engineering License
  • USCG Engineering License (Chief Engineer, 1st A/E, 2nd A/E, 3rd A/E Rating)
  • Lead Engineer for former NAVSEA Ship Design Manager or similar roles
  • Participation in professional organizations (e.g., IEEE, SNAME)
  • Experience with Top Side, C4I, and Navigation
