Job Description
Job Requirements
- Certified in Epic Professional Billing (PB).
- Familiarity with PB Claims and remittance is helpful.
- Solid understanding of claims and billing workflows.
- Responsible for the ongoing design, build, testing, validation, and support of assigned modules across the health care system.
- Maintains expertise and seeks additional knowledge in the support and optimization of assigned Epic module(s).
- Works cohesively with stakeholders to provide system support including analysis, build, and testing of requested changes.
- Reviews, builds, tests, and implements new functionality via System Upgrades and Special Updates.
- Demonstrates timely, effective, and efficient troubleshooting of complex production software and workflow issues.
- Acts as primary contributor in the development and documentation of internal procedures.
- Helps develop build timelines and project plans.
- Develops and maintains system documentation for ongoing support and maintenance.
- Assists Application Director in developing build timelines and project plans.
- Performs and oversees unit testing of application configurations and build in non-production environments.
- Assists with creation of test scripts and ensures relevance and accuracy.
- Performs testing in a structured manner, follows defined test scripts, and documents results.
- Follows established guidelines for system change control.
- Creates and maintains documentation for change management.
- Collaborates across teams to ensure quality standards in process design, interface development, testing, and training.
- Independently performs basic project management activities for system changes and projects.
- Develops application-specific reports and provides technical specifications to report developers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent years of related experience in health care or information technology.
- Minimum Experience
- Five (5) years of experience in a health care related field required.
- Three (3) years of experience supporting one or more Epic modules preferred.
- Large scale health care systems planning and implementation experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements
- Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
- Security Sensitive
- This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094.
- Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification.
- Residency Requirement
- Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
