Job Description

• Provide coding and abstracting services for outpatient, physician or emergency room medical records using ICD 10-CM, CPS and CPT coding systems • Review medical records to identify pertinent diagnoses and procedures • Enter charts coded in real-time throughout the scheduled shift • Solicit clarification from the physician regarding documentation in the medical record • Participate in Coding Roundtables and maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines

Job Requirements

Minimum of 3-5 years of related coding experience
CPC certification
Understands medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology and disease processes
Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPS and CPT coding principles and guidelines
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
