Job Description
• Conduct pre-voyage assessments including route evaluation, port risk reviews, and port entry/exit planning
• Identify maritime hazards, piracy zones, trafficking areas, weather patterns, and navigation chokepoints
• Communicate findings through secure channels and contribute to the vessel’s security plan
• Maintain continuous watchstanding, situational awareness, and lookout duties
• Execute low-profile protective surveillance while blending with vessel crew operations
• Apply counter-surveillance techniques at sea and during port calls
• Conduct vessel security drills, cabin and deck sweeps, and equipment checks
• Support vessel hardening, perimeter control, and controlled access points
• Enforce security protocols during embarkation, disembarkation, and small-craft transfers
• Provide armed overwatch during high-risk transits or threat-identified routes
• Maintain strict weapons discipline under maritime safety standards
• Execute passive and active deterrence measures in alignment with international maritime regulations
• Assist captain and crew with observation of navigational hazards, AIS monitoring, and VHF communications
• Support maneuvering operations during harbor entry, anchoring, docking, or night operations
• Maintain awareness of weather shifts, vessel traffic, and unexpected maritime conditions
• Coordinate silently with UG Advanced Protection HQ, UGAP GSOC, vessel captain, and port authorities
• Support emergency routing changes, diversion plans, rescue operations, or humanitarian evacuation movements
• Provide initial emergency care and assist embedded medics when present
• Complete detailed voyage security logs and incident reports
• Provide concise post-transit summaries and after-action submissions to UG Advanced Protection leadership
Job Requirements
- Prior military maritime experience preferred (US Navy, USCG, NSW, MARSOC, SOF)
- Demonstrated maritime operations competence, small-craft familiarity, or vessel security experience
- Valid U.S. passport and ability to travel internationally
- Ability to obtain or maintain: – STCW – ENG1 – MSO certifications – PSC – Florida Class D & G – TWIC – Weapons qualifications for PCASP assignments
- Clean background, professional character, and ability to pass UGAP vetting
- CPR/BLS certification at minimum
