Job Description

• Prepare and review quarterly and annual statutory financial statements in accordance with NAIC guidelines and state regulatory requirements. • Lead components of the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. • Analyze financial results and provide clear, actionable insights to internal stakeholders. • Collaborate with internal departments to gather data and ensure completeness and accuracy in reporting. • Support internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and other compliance reviews by preparing schedules and documentation. • Monitor and interpret changes in statutory accounting principles and regulatory requirements to ensure ongoing compliance. • Respond to ad-hoc requests for financial and operational analysis from management and regulators. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3–5 years of accounting or audit experience, preferably within insurance or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles; property and casualty insurance experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar general ledger systems is a plus.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or AIAF (Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance) designation preferred.
  • Candidates actively pursuing CPA or AIAF certification will also be considered.
