Job Description

• Lead drafting, negotiation, and management of a wide range of commercial agreements (enterprise SaaS contracts, data processing agreements, strategic partnerships, vendor contracts, and more). • Negotiate directly with large enterprise customers and strategic partners, balancing speed-to-close with thoughtful risk mitigation. • Collaborate closely with our Head of Legal Operations to create scalable commercial processes, templates, and systems. • Provide practical and actionable guidance on privacy, product, employment, and compliance matters as they arise. • Partner with product and engineering teams to shape the roadmap with privacy and regulatory considerations in mind. • Enable sales, customer success, and other go-to-market functions through playbooks, trainings, and templates. • Collaborate directly with the General Counsel on strategic initiatives, Board matters, and scaling the legal function.

Job Requirements

  • 5–7 years of legal experience, with meaningful in-house experience at a high-growth B2B SaaS, AI or data infra company.
  • Extensive experience successfully negotiating complex enterprise SaaS agreements with Fortune 500 or other large global companies.
  • Demonstrated ability to get deals done while mitigating legal and business risk in a meaningful, scalable way.
  • Track record of partnering with legal operations and cross-functional teams to scale a commercial contracting function.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one US state.
  • Familiarity with global data privacy and AI regulations, including comprehensive (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and sectoral (HIPAA, GLBA, WA My Health My Data, etc.) frameworks.
  • CIPP/US and/or CIPP/E.
  • Ability to make quick, pragmatic decisions and clearly distinguish between business-critical and lower-priority issues.
  • A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys working remotely, and is excited to roll up their sleeves and build from scratch.
  • Intellectual curiosity, willingness to learn across disciplines, and a sense of humor.
