• Communicate with patients via phone and email regarding outstanding balances, billing concerns, and account resolution • Review patient accounts for accuracy and explain charges, payments, denials, and adjustments • Educate patients on insurance coverage, co-pays, deductibles, and financial responsibility • Assist patients with setting up payment plans or applying for financial assistance if eligible • Collaborate with internal departments such as coding, insurance verification, and collections to resolve account discrepancies • Document all communication and actions taken in the patient account system according to HIPAA and organizational guidelines • Identify trends in billing issues and suggest process improvements to management • Stay current on payer policies, billing regulations, and system updates
