Job Description

Company Profile

At Sand Cherry Associates, we excel in the design and delivery of strategic customer-centric initiatives through digitally native, data-powered solutions. Our client’s confidence in us is centered on exceptionally skilled, high-energy talent working with the support of the full Sand Cherry Team. Finding the right match for this role is a critical aspect of our success.

Overview

Our client, a leader in the energy sector, is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to join their team during a critical juncture. This role will support the implementation of an Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) solution—Allegro—while also contributing to the organization’s broader IT initiatives. The ideal candidate has either direct experience implementing ETRM platforms and a strong background in energy industry project delivery. They will step into the user acceptance testing phase and drive the final stretch of the implementation through go-live, followed by onboarding multiple assets into the platform. This is a remote, 12 month+ consulting role and candidates will work within MST and CST time zones. All qualified candidates must live in the United States and be fully authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship.

Job Requirements

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support user acceptance testing and readiness activities for Allegro ETRM implementation.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, technical leads, and vendors to drive successful deployment.
  • Manage project timelines, risks, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
  • Facilitate vendor collaboration, system integrations, and process improvements.
  • Oversee onboarding of new assets and users to the platform post-go live.
  • Provide clear documentation, reporting, and status updates for executive stakeholders.
  • Support process alignment across sales, marketing, and gas trading operations.
  • Assist with adjacent IT or integration efforts as project needs evolve.
  • Requirements
  • 7+ years of IT or business project management experience
  • Must have industry experience in Oil & Gas and/or Energy
  • Experience leading cross-functional IT initiatives; ERP experience is helpful but not required
  • Strong understanding of IT integrations and business systems
  • Energy industry experience required; experience with upstream natural gas operations or trading is a major plus
  • Familiarity with ETRM platforms (Allegro preferred) or complex trading/financial systems
  • Proven ability to lead projects through UAT, implementation, and post-launch onboarding
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills; comfortable interfacing with technical and business leaders
  • Ability to manage complexity, vendors, and multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with Smartsheet or similar PM tools
  • Additional Plus
  • Experience with SAP or other enterprise systems
  • PMP
  • Previous experience on capitalizable or compliance-driven projects
  • Compensation
  • For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Sand Cherry Associates is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range considers a wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training; licensure [CR1] and certifications; and delivery model. This is a 12+ months consulting engagement with an expected annual salary of $125-165,000. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role, and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
