Job Description
• Develop data governance policies and standards to ensure data consistency, and accessibility across the organization.
• Provide technology stakeholders advice as it relates to the data governance framework and standards to ensure their ongoing compliance with data governance policies and standards.
• Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, including data stewardship.
• Provide guidance and support to data stewards, data owners, and other stakeholders in implementing data governance practices.
• Work with Data Stewards to identify and document data assets needing specific security considerations and provide oversight.
• Develop and deliver training programs to promote data governance awareness and best practices across the organization.
• Monitor and report on data governance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct data governance impact assessments to identify potential risks associated with data collection, processing, and sharing.
• Provide guidance and oversight for documenting and maintaining critical data domain inventory, business metadata.
• Lead data governance initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain data standards and best practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information management, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role, preferably within the financial services or real estate industry.
- Demonstrated success in improving data maturity and data management practices.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, tools, and best practices.
- Experience with defining and implementing enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, standards and procedures.
- Experience conducting regular assessments and audits to ensure data standards are met.
- Ability to identify, analyze and mitigate data-related risks and issues.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with data concepts such as: policy as code, data mesh and graphDB.
- Experience maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of data governance activities and documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with data governance and data quality tools and technologies.
- Programming skills (e.g., SQL) are often beneficial.
- Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., DAMA, CDMP) is a plus.
