Job Description
• Lead one engineering team and operate as a hands-on technical leader, spending approximately 75% of your time coding and leading projects, and 25% on people management.
• Success in this role means delivering high-quality software, unblocking the team through technical leadership, and supporting the growth and performance of a small group of engineers.
Job Requirements
- Experience building and leading development of SaaS systems using CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and containerized environments.
- Experience with modern Python frameworks and technologies, such as Django, FastAPI, Flask, SQLAlchemy.
- Experience using modern developer tooling, including AI-assisted coding, to improve personal and team productivity.
- Acts as a technical owner for the team, driving design decisions, code quality, and long-term maintainability of the systems you build.
- Experience leading complex engineering efforts, from scoping and task break-down through delivery, while keeping a healthy and engaged team.
- Comfortable making and revisiting trade-offs as priorities shift, while keeping the team focused and productive.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, partnering closely with Product and Design to turn loosely defined problems into clear, executable plans.
- Takes clear ownership of the team’s outcomes and the impact of delivered work on the broader organization.
- Demonstrates strong team leadership by building trust, encouraging healthy debate, driving clear commitments, holding the team accountable, and focusing on results.
- Has strong mentoring and coaching skills, guide professional development of direct reports by using the engineering ladder, sets goals and objectives. Be capable of providing timely constructive feedback, regular recognition, encouragement, credit to direct reports aimed at strengthening individual performance. Be capable of holding difficult conversations and mediating interpersonal conflict. Contributes to a healthy, learning-oriented, generative engineering culture.
