Job Description
• Researching and reading in preparation for pieces
• Proofreading, editing, and generating ideas for future stories and features
• Conducting interviews in-person, on the phone, or via Zoom
• Writing expository features, investigative reporting, long-form features, and comprehensive stories with on-the-record quotes
• Produce 3-4 articles per month and meet deadlines
• Collaborate with editors and adhere to professional interview conduct
Job Requirements
- Complete 3-4 articles a month
- Schedule must allow for conducting interviews during business hours (9-5 M-F)
- Outstanding command of English language and grammar
- Superior attention to detail
- Ability to think creatively
- Produce error-free copy under deadlines
- Operate professionally and intelligently when conducting interviews
- Comfortable conducting video and audio recorded interview via Zoom with the camera on
- Experience conducting interviews and writing music-related features preferred but not required
- Passionate and eager writers knowledgeable and/or willing to learn about a wide range of genres and artists
