Job Description
• Responsible for overall planning, coordination, execution, oversight, and completion of specific projects
• Ensure project leadership and delivery is consistent with company policies, procedures, commitments, and goals
• Travel to customer locations as required and perform direct supervision of personnel during project execution
• Review project proposal materials to understand goals, deliverables, timeframe, budget, and identify risks and funding limitations
• Ensure project team staffing and allocation of resources to specific project tasks
• Develop project plans specifying deliverables, resource allocation, schedule, labor hours and billing forecasts, risks and mitigation plans
• Coordinate assignment of project duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
• Coordinate activities and direct project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget
• Apply standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation and review status reports
• Prepare project status reports for management, clients, and stakeholders
• Develop business processes to ensure the application meets all project requirements
• Ensure quality control of technical and project documentation and manage project records per PMO guidelines
• Coordinate efforts with finance, marketing, sales, IT and client staff to meet project goals and requirements
• Author change descriptions and coordinate estimating and pricing for change orders
• Participate in proposal development including scope of work preparation and estimate coordination
• Supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, training, directing work, and appraising performance
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of at least 7 years’ related experience in project management capacity
- Professional Services or consulting organization experience highly preferred
- Experience managing Esri GIS system implementation and integration projects
- Electric or gas utility project management experience is strongly preferred
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of project management standards, processes, techniques, and tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management, conflict resolution, and change management
- Experience overseeing testing and defect tracking
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project management software including Project, Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience in managing software development staff and understanding of the software development lifecycle including testing cycles preferred
- Certificate in Project Management (PMP) is a plus
- Experience with Esri's Utility Network is preferred
- Willingness to travel up to 50-75% as required
- Ideal candidate located on the West Coast or in the Pacific Time Zone
