Job Description
• Research and read in preparation for feature pieces
• Proofread and edit submitted work
• Generate ideas for future stories and long-form features
• Produce expository features, investigative reporting, and long-form analyses
• Conduct interviews (in-person, phone, or Zoom) and include on-the-record quotes from multiple artists or subjects
• Deliver 3-4 articles per month and meet deadlines
• Produce error-free copy under deadlines and operate professionally during interviews
Job Requirements
- Expected to complete 3-4 articles a month
- Schedule must allow for conducting interviews during business hours (9-5 M-F)
- Have experience conducting interviews in-person or on the phone
- Outstanding command of English language and grammar
- Superior attention to detail
- Ability to think creatively
- Produce error-free copy under deadlines
- Operate professionally and intelligently when conducting interviews
- Comfortable conducting video and audio recorded interviews via Zoom with the camera on
- Experience conducting interviews and writing music-related features preferred but not required
- Passion for and knowledge of a wide range of musical genres or willingness to learn
