Job Description
• Perform advanced geospatial lidar technical tasks.
• Define optimal workflow processes for their respective areas of expertise.
• Assist leadership in identifying technology needs, including hardware and software.
• Monitor and executes geospatial processes within their department and ensures all required steps are performed correctly and accurately.
• Provide technical expertise and leadership in the project definition and planning phases.
• Assist leadership in the development and implementation of geospatial QA/QC standards.
• Applie or develops advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes in execution of quality deliverables that meet project/deliverable specifications.
• Communicate new scientific methods, developments and practices through appropriate firm channels.
• Assist leadership in the development of project estimates and production schedules based on best practice approaches and available technology.
• Coach, mentor, direct ,and delegate execution of project deliverables to and among technical team members.
• Collaborate with team on project workload; shifting responsibilities as needed.
Job Requirements
- Education/Experience: Must have BA/BS degree relating to the Geospatial field and a minimum of five (5) years of professional Geospatial lidar related experience.
- Must have extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience regarding topo-bathymetric lidar data production workflows.
- Must have experience and ability to lead topo-bathymetric lidar projects from scoping phase through client delivery.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must have intermediate Microsoft Office suite skills.
- Must be proficient in geospatial system related software applications such as TerraSolid, Esri ArcGIS, and/or Bentley MicroStation.
- Bathymetric mapping / hydrographic survey experience preferred.
- Must be able to respond quickly to multiple demands in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.
- Must be able to interface effectively with vendors, clients, and other firm resources in a team environment.
- Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
- Licenses/Certifications: GISP, CP, or CMS preferred.
