• Provide accurate translation and/or editing of documents and/or transcription of audio files involving law enforcement and legal subject matter from Tamil English. • Edit audio transcriptions that include slang and idioms. • Edit legal documents, such as affidavits, depositions, etc., while demonstrating a strong command of legal terminology in both English and the target language. • Excellent written communication skills in English and the target foreign language, with Advanced Proficiency (reading/speaking/listening, writing) level 3-plus in English and the foreign target language, as assessed by the International Language Roundtable (ILR) scale. • Translate and/or transcribe following the government client’s style guides and quality standards. • Use domain-specific terminology. • Review and certify other translators’ work quality, as needed. • Highly proficient in MS Office, with the ability to mirror source document format in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Familiar with the use of CAT tools, such as Trados Studio. • Abide by a code of ethics when performing transcription and translation work.
