Job Description
• Serve as the Growth Director and partner with internal associates to provide support across all phases of the sales cycle, from prospect through successful implementation while playing a highly strategic role in the sales process
• Consult with our broker partners and directly to prospects to align with their business objectives, the needs of their members, and Marathon’s scope of services
• Research and collaborate with others for opportunities for growth and development of services to our clients
• Partner with the Growth VP and/or operate independently, prospect and benefit consultant to provide support across all phases of the sales cycle, from prospect through successful implementation while playing a highly strategic role in the sales process
• Manage data integrity and workflows using Salesforce
• Track progress through the selling cycle for prospective clients
• Leverage or develop industry experience to consult and influence the client's direction, in alignment with their business objectives and Marathon’s scope of services
• Develop a deep understanding of Marathon products and solution areas, including our clinic services, coaching, wellness tools, occupational care, and others as assigned
• Support the growth team in the pursuit of new opportunities, specifically identification of business requirements and solution conceptualization
• Champion our mission and educate others on the application of and benefits associated with Marathon solutions among prospective clients, partners, and teammates
• Lead, coordinate, and/or attend external meetings with prospective clients and benefit consulting partners
• Lead, coordinate, and/or attend internal meetings with other departments and key stakeholders such as marketing, account management, implementation, clinic operations, etc.
• Continually identify and highlight risks or opportunities to improve the sales strategy, pipeline, or business development team performance
• Respond to any inquiries from prospective clients and/or benefit consultants
• Build rapport and relationships with external partners and vendors to support business objectives
• Attend industry events and be a brand ambassador to increase awareness of Marathon products and services
• Consistently scope and research the competition and become an expert on our differentiation and where the market is headed
• Offer opportunities to enhance our business plan and increase value-added services to our customers
• Partner with marketing/creative services to build effective sales collateral and lead gen activities that engage prospective clients and aligns with their business initiatives
• Help manage the pipeline in Salesforce (CRM) as necessary to ensure appropriate transparency and reporting of activities across the organization
• Bring a collaborative, creative and competitive attitude to the sales team and Marathon’s corporate culture
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of related professional experience plus a minimum of 1-year sales experience strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Maximization of CRM systems (i.e. salesforce.com)
- Creative and strategic thinking with a strong track record of relationship building and a sales mindset
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively at both detail and big-picture levels and to obtain results
- Ability to work remotely in a secure confidential location; in a distraction-free without interruptions environment; with sufficient internet connections; and during the established schedule
- Strong technical expertise using Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Ability to communicate medical conversations with clients, patients, business leaders and professionals
- Strong emotional Intelligence to manage difficult conversations, challenging negotiations and deadlines, and maintain a friendly, optimistic, and confident outlook representing our mission and code
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to promote teamwork
- Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships by approaching all work with integrity and commitment
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize work, execute a plan, and meet deadlines

- This position requires regional travel ~50% of the time (with some seasons featuring higher travel)
