Job Description

• Develop and oversee implementation of the Games medical operations plan, exercising independent medical judgment in all clinical matters. • Provide expert consultation on athlete care standards, emergency preparedness, and safety protocols. • Coordinate with CrossFit’s Safety and Sport teams on administrative logistics and event integration, while retaining control over all medical decision-making. • Collaborate with the CrossFit Safety Advisory Board and outside agencies as appropriate to review and refine Games medical policies and best practices. • Direct, with independent judgment, the medical coverage and readiness plan for the Games, including coordination with local hospitals, EMS, and public health authorities. • Oversee on-site triage, treatment, and emergency response systems for athletes, staff, and spectators. • Supervise, at their discretion, all medical personnel engaged for the event (including physicians, athletic trainers, nurses, EMTs, and volunteers). All medical and clinical supervision shall rest solely with the Medical Director; CrossFit retains administrative authority over event operations, including the right to approve, assign, or remove personnel for non-clinical or conduct reasons. • Participate in onsite daily medical briefings, CrossFit Games ‘war room’ meetings, and post-event debriefs to provide medical input and situational updates. • Provide a post-event report summarizing medical outcomes, de-identified data, and recommendations for future Games. • Ensure all data shared with CrossFit is aggregated or de-identified in compliance with HIPAA and applicable privacy laws.

Job Requirements

  • Board certification in Sports Medicine.
  • Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience, with 3+ years in medical leadership or event operations.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and crisis management skills.
  • Proven experience managing medical operations for large-scale athletic or sporting events, preferred.
  • Experience within the CrossFit community, preferred.
  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1) or higher credential, preferred.
