Job Description
• Accurately review and assign codes for multi-specialty outpatient surgery and inpatient/outpatient pro fee coding
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations and payer guidelines
• Maintain productivity standards
• Collaborate with physicians and surgical staff to clarify documentation
• Utilize coding software and EHR systems effectively
• Conduct periodic audits of coded data
• Assist in resolving coding-related denials
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Completion of a formal coding program with certification such as CPC or CCS-P
- Minimum of three years coding work experience
- At least 2 years in ambulatory surgical coding with focus on Orthopedic and Plastic Surgery procedures
- Intermediate level computer skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of reimbursement methodologies
