• Provide thoughtful, strategic legal advice in support of First Connect’s business goals • Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team and influence decision-making on risk, compliance, and business strategy • Build a collaborative, impact-oriented legal function that supports business priorities with agility and attention to detail • Prepare and present legal updates to the Board of Directors and executive leadership • Draft and manage a wide variety of contracts, including carrier agreements, B2B agreements, data sharing agreements, and a high volume of NDAs • Oversee the contract intake, review, and retention process using a scalable contract management system • Identify and mitigate key contract risks related to licensing, indemnity, privacy, and product compliance • Serve as First Connect’s Compliance Officer, leading company-wide regulatory initiatives and managing compliance risk • Advise leadership on insurance regulations and licensing requirements for agents and sub-producers • Stay current on applicable state and federal regulations (including for both admitted and non-admitted products) and oversee regulatory change management • Manage tracking and response to regulatory inquiries and complaints • Partner with product and engineering teams to support legal aspects of new product development and innovation • Guide product delivery to ensure legal and regulatory compliance • Retain and manage external counsel for litigation or government investigations • Represent the company’s legal interests in dispute resolution • Support the Finance team in implementing legal controls for financial reporting and audits • Provide legal input on liabilities and work closely with auditors and risk managers • Establish governance policies and ensure legal compliance across all business functions • Support legal matters related to equity, corporate structure, and board management
