Job Description
• Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities with Coops and Munis
• Develop and manage relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
• Create business case for the utility
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to align customer needs with solutions
• Track market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscape
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, economics, or a related field (MBA a plus)
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, or strategy, in energy, utilities, or cleantech
- Working knowledge of electric utility markets, DERs, demand response, VPPs, or grid services
- Experience responding to utility RFPs and negotiating commercial contracts
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage a pipeline, forecast revenue, and close complex, long-cycle deals
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with product, engineering, regulatory, and operations teams
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced startup environment
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet customers and partners
