Job Description
• Lead U.S. income and indirect tax compliance including third party management, data gathering, documentation, filings, and reviews across EQ and its affiliates.
• Support the Tax Director on all U.S. tax matters and technical analyses.
• Coordinate with finance, payroll, IT, and other departments to obtain and validate data required for federal and state income tax filings, monthly indirect tax obligations and all collateral filing responsibilities.
• Partner with the Center of Excellence (CoE) in India to oversee monthly transactional tax reporting, indirect tax reconciliations, and internal control compliance.
• Manage responses to tax notices, audits, and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate communication with tax authorities.
• Maintain and review tax workpapers, including support for Form 1120 and related state returns, modification calculations, and attribute roll forward schedules.
• Ensure adherence to the tax calendar, including all filings and required payments.
• Drive process improvements in tax data collection, reporting efficiency, workflow automation, and tax technology utilization.
• Co‑lead special projects including planning initiatives, M&A support, implementation of tax technology, and compliance optimization.
Job Requirements
- CPA and/or MST preferred.
- Significant U.S. federal income tax experience (Form 1120).
- Understanding of indirect tax concepts and compliance workflows.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, data validation, complex formulas).
- Experience with tax technology platforms, including: ONESOURCE (compliance & provision) Vertex / Avalara / ONESOURCE Indirect Tax Oracle and Workday ERP BNA / Sage fixed assets
- Experience with manual depreciation and amortization calculations.
- Ability to utilize your CAF number and serve as appointee with POAs to communicate with the IRS and state authorities.
- Fortune 500 experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a remote, fast-moving environment.
- Posses the ability to instinctively identify next steps.
- Willingness to work extended hours when required.
