Job Description

• Perform various GL month-end close activities. • Prepare journal entries and related account reconciliations. • Develop relationships and work effectively with teams outside of accounting including procure-to-pay, treasury, payroll, sales compensation, order-to-cash, supply chain, among others. • Demonstrate extreme ownership of assigned accounts which may include, among others, inventory, deferred commissions, marketable securities and investments, complex bank account arrangements, and accounts payable and accounts receivable related accounts. • Help implement process improvements by identifying weaknesses in the close process. • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting.
  • 2+ years relevant accounting experience.
  • Able to work with a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of operational accounting processes (accruals, account reconciliation, month end/year end close).
  • Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • CPA (or equivalent) or interest in obtaining CPA (or equivalent).
  • Experience working under strict deadlines and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Must be a fast learner, multi-tasker with a strong desire to learn and a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Experience with NetSuite.
  • Critical thinker, able to implement scalable processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
