Job Description

• Assigns appropriate billing codes to patient accounts • Performs ongoing analysis of medical record documentation for completeness • Provides feedback to Coders on coding discrepancies • Provides feedback to Coding Supervisor on documentation deficiencies • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Four (4) years of Emergency Department (ED) and Hospitalist Medicine coding experience
Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or equivalent, preferred
CIRCC required within 12 months of hire
Must possess a Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC) certification or have a minimum of 5 years of coding experience in interventional radiology procedures
Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
Knowledge of the requirements of medical record documentation
Strong database software skills
