Job Description
The Bank of New York Mellon seeks Senior Vice President, Database Engineer in New York, NY, to consult with internal business groups to provide high-level application software development services or technical support. Evaluate compliance with the organization's technology standards. Actively participate in code reviews. Integrate software components into a fully functional software system. Apply security and privacy principles. Work with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications. Analyze information and provide recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group. Consult with IT management and technical staff regarding use of emerging technologies and associated services. Participate in defining corporate implementation and integration strategies of new technologies. Use learning tools such as Pluralsight to complete both recommended and aspirational targets set in personal development plans. Stay abreast of emerging technologies. Advocate for innovative, creative technology solutions. Mentor junior level engineers. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in a related IT occupation. Nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience must include: Performing all phases of development lifecycle, from gathering requirements, analysis, design, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting application software; Architecting application system with complex business logic and data using ETL, Mongodb, SQL, API, XML, JSON, HTML, and S3 data; Handling data feed from different data sources, performing transformations, and loading the data into various targets using ETL Pentaho, Data Stage, and Spark tools; Writing business logic using NoSQL, and MongoDB database aggregation pipelines; Participating in defining corporate implementation and integration strategies of new technologies; and Developing CICD pipeline utilizing Jenkin and GitLab.

The base salary/range for this position is expected to be $189,592.00 - $189,592.00 per year at the commencement of employment. Base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
