Job Description
Role Description
- Provide expert, graduate-level knowledge in Microbiology
- Guide students through their educational experience while upholding the CPS commitment to student success
- Respond to student inquiries in a timely manner (within 24 hours)
- Facilitate class instruction by engaging in the online course portal a minimum of five times per week
- Host at least one hour of virtual office hours per week
- Demonstrate excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Analyze and apply best practices in online Microbiology education
Qualifications
- Experience teaching online in an educational setting, with demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and assessment, and a passion for teaching Microbiology
- Master’s degree in Microbiology or a related field required; PhD preferred
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience in Microbiology
- Ability to motivate and encourage students in academic and professional settings
- Expertise in online teaching and a willingness to learn and apply new technological approaches to education
- Experience using the Brightspace/D2L Learning Management System preferred
