Zeus Jones

Zeus Jones is a brand innovation agency. We help organizations figure out who they are, what they stand for, and how that shows up in real, tangible ways—products, stories, systems, and experiences. We work across industries and categories. The problems are often messy. The expectations are high. The work is collaborative, fast-moving, and opinionated. This role is based in Minneapolis–St. Paul or remote, with regular travel for company core weeks (quarterly) and client work (1–4 times per quarter). For Minneapolis-St. Paul employees, we’re hybrid, with Tuesday–Thursday in the office.

Role Description

Zeus Jones is looking for a midcareer or senior creative to join our brand innovation agency. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows how to turn sharp thinking into clear, compelling work—and help other creatives do the same.

  • You’re a strong storyteller and writer first, with real experience across brand, marketing, and content.
  • You have great taste and know when something’s working and when it’s not.
  • You’re comfortable guiding teams toward better outcomes without needing to be the loudest voice in the room.
  • You’re fluent in generative AI tools and genuinely excited about how they’re changing the future of brands.
  • This role sits at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and execution.
  • You’ll help shape ideas, write a lot, lead creative development, and partner closely with strategists, designers, technologists, and clients.

Qualifications

  • 5–15 years of experience in creative roles such as brand, advertising, content, editorial, experiential, or adjacent fields.
  • A strong portfolio of writing-led work (brand storytelling, campaigns, long-form, short-form, or all of the above).
  • Proven ability to guide other creatives and raise the quality of work around you.
  • Excellent taste and the confidence to stand behind your decisions.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity—loose briefs, evolving inputs, real-world constraints.
  • Hands-on experience using generative tools (especially AI) as part of your creative process.
  • A forward-looking point of view on how brands, creativity, and technology are evolving.
  • Strong collaboration skills and low ego—you care more about the work than the credit.

Requirements

  • Write and shape brand narratives, campaign ideas, positioning, messaging, and content.
  • Move comfortably between big-picture storytelling and sharp marketing copy.
  • Edit ruthlessly—your own work and others’—to make ideas clearer, stronger, and more persuasive.
  • Help turn strategy into language people actually understand and care about.
  • Guide and mentor others creatively—helping them level up their thinking, craft, and confidence.
  • Lead creative workstreams or major portions of projects from early ideas through execution.
  • Give clear, constructive feedback that improves the work and makes strategic sense.
  • Help maintain a high bar for taste, clarity, and originality across the team.
  • Stay plugged into culture—not as a trend hunter, but as someone who understands how people think, talk, and behave.
  • Bring a point of view on what matters now (and what doesn’t).
  • Use cultural insights to make brand ideas feel relevant, human, and specific—not generic or “brand-y.”
  • Actively use generative tools (AI writing, concepting, synthesis, prototyping, etc.) in your creative process.
  • Think beyond efficiency: explore how these tools change what brands can be, not just how work gets made.
  • Help shape new ways of working that combine human judgment, taste, and creativity with machine capability.
  • Be a partner in defining what “good” looks like in an AI-influenced creative future.
  • Present work clearly and confidently to clients.
  • Help clients understand ideas, not just react to them.
  • Build trust by showing good judgment, curiosity, and follow-through.

Benefits

  • Strong benefits.
  • Flexible time off.
  • The chance to work with smart, kind people on genuinely interesting problems.
