Real Chemistry is looking for an Account Director to join our growing Medical Communications team!
The Account Director on the US Medical Affairs team serves as the primary client contact and strategic advisor, responsible for managing relationships, driving business growth, and ensuring exceptional client service. You will oversee the development and execution of high-quality strategic med affairs plans, providing leadership and direction to account teams while identifying opportunities for innovation and expansion.
This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs.
What You’ll Do:
- Act as day-to-day lead client partner for medical affairs and publication workstreams, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
- Provide senior-level counsel on key projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and industry best practices.
- Oversee account operations, ensuring seamless execution of deliverables, proactive issue resolution, and effective communication of project updates.
- Drive strategic planning and growth opportunities, identifying areas for program evolution and expansion.
- Ensure financial stewardship, including budget oversight, forecasting, and profitability management.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory updates, and competitive activities to inform client strategies.
- Support new business development efforts, contributing to pitches, proposals, and overall business growth initiatives.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in medical affairs and ideally publications, in an agency setting.
- Proven success in leading client relationships and delivering strategic counsel in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, scopes of work, and forecasting revenue growth.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor teams, fostering career growth and professional development.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and present to senior-level stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, with strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); experience with Veeva preferred but not required.
- BA or equivalent work experience required.
