Role Description

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead a strong and diverse team supporting exploration and business development within the Strategic Weapons and Nuclear, Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems domain. The candidate will use his/her expertise and understanding of the Strategic Systems community, mission operations, strategic weapons, and command, control, and communications contractor industrial base to define business strategies, competitive landscape, and investment needed to bid and win opportunities in 2026 and beyond.

  • Leverage GDMS Strategic Mission Systems core competencies in strategic weapon systems, computer and communications electronics to develop customer and industry relationships, win strategies, and capture plans in support of growth objectives for Maritime and Strategic Systems (M&SS) Line of Business (LoB).
  • Provide oversight to all proposal efforts, execution of new business and independent R&D funds, and manage one or more CRAD/BAA programs as awarded to GDMS.
  • Ensure all project activities are compliant with contract and GDMS common process requirements, performed and completed in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner without compromising the quality of the deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.
  • Strong leadership behaviors and effective communication skills.
  • Sophisticated understanding of budget management.
  • Ability to successfully manage, grow, and evolve GDMS programs.

Requirements

  • Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within our facilities.
