LecturerJob Summary:
Teach Zoology 304, Marine Biology. This is a 2-credit lecture course offered as an asynchronous online course. Duties include managing course materials, preparing, administering, and grading exams and homework, holding office hours, managing student accommodation needs, and perform related duties. The instructor will also supervise 1 Teaching Assistant. The enrollment of the course ranges from 50-70.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
- Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
- Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations

Compensation:
The minimum annual base salary for this 50% FTE summer position is $50,000. Actual compensation will be calculated based on candidates qualifications and experience and prorated based on the contract length and FTE.
Work Type:
Part Time: 50% from May 18, 2026 to July 19, 2026
It is anticipated that this position will be remote.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of previous online teaching experience at the college/university level
- Minimum 2 years of college/university teaching of general/introductory biology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with learning management software such as Canvas
- Experience with designing engaging assignments for online courses
Education:
- Masters degree is required, PhD is preferred. MS or PhD in Marine Sciences with strong focus on Biology.
