Role Description

The GCP Engineer is a senior cloud engineering role responsible for architecting scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions on Google Cloud Platform. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with cloud engineering leadership, driving modernization initiatives, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code adoption, and enterprise cloud standards.

The role plays a key part in enabling secure cloud-native systems, guiding platform evolution, and mentoring engineering teams to accelerate cloud adoption across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of software, cloud, or infrastructure engineering experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
  • Proven experience designing cloud-native and hybrid architectures
  • Strong expertise in GCP core services and networking
  • Kubernetes (GKE) and containerization
  • CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
  • Python, Java, Go, or similar languages
  • Experience in Agile/DevOps environments

Requirements

  • Design and implement enterprise-grade solutions on Google Cloud Platform
  • Architect scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native and hybrid applications
  • Lead migration and modernization initiatives, including re-platforming and transformation efforts
  • Define and maintain cloud architecture standards and best practices
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Harness, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent
  • Automate provisioning, deployments, and operational workflows
  • Promote observability and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
  • Ensure cloud solutions meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements
  • Implement IAM, network security, encryption, and key management best practices
  • Partner with security and compliance teams to enforce governance and cost controls
  • Act as technical lead for cross-functional cloud initiatives
  • Conduct architecture reviews and guide engineering best practices
  • Mentor engineers across application, infrastructure, and platform teams
  • Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable cloud solutions
  • Implement and optimize GCP services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage
