Job Description
Role Description
ELB Learning is seeking a Deal Support Commercial Contracts Manager to help move customer transactions from commercial alignment to signed contracts. This role is ideal for an experienced commercial contracts professional who has worked on the sell-side within a legal or commercial contracts team and understands how enterprise deals get completed. You will guide the contracting process for ELB’s SaaS, professional services, and hybrid transactions by:
- Preparing and tailoring contract documentation using ELB’s legal-approved templates, forms, and playbooks
- Coordinating internal stakeholders
- Identifying potential blockers early
- Helping Sales navigate customer paper, procurement steps, and internal approvals
This is not a lawyer role nor a passive contract administration role. We are looking for someone who has spent years supporting B2B sales teams, managing contracts as projects, and taking pride in getting deals closed while keeping terms workable and operationally realistic. The right candidate knows where deals tend to break down and how to prevent delays, ensuring transactions move smoothly to signature.
Qualifications
- Substantial hands-on experience supporting sell-side commercial contracting for SaaS, technology-enabled services, professional services, or similar B2B offerings
- Experience working within or alongside a legal or commercial contracts team (without functioning as company counsel)
- Track record of helping sales teams move deals from draft through redlines, approvals, procurement, and signature
- Strong judgment on what can be handled directly, what needs coordination, and what should be escalated to Legal
- Ability to read a deal holistically, identify practical blockers early, and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Comfort with customer paper, enterprise procurement processes, and nonstandard requests while maintaining a practical seller-focused view
- Strong document management, follow-up discipline, and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication with Sales, Finance, Legal, and customer-side contacts
Requirements
- Manage assigned deals from initial contracting request through execution
- Treat each transaction as a project, with clear next steps, open issues, dependencies, and timing considerations
- Keep deals moving by following up with internal stakeholders, organizing inputs, tracking status, and guiding Sales
- Identify potential blockers early (e.g., missing terms, unclear scope, nonstandard paper, procurement requirements, approval gaps, or operational commitments)
- Surface issues before they become end-of-quarter emergencies
- Prepare and tailor contract documents using ELB’s approved templates, including subscription agreements, order forms, SOWs, amendments, renewals, and related schedules
- Assemble complete contract packages, including DPAs, security exhibits, AI terms, and other required attachments
- Review customer redlines against ELB-approved positions, fallback language, and contract playbooks
- Route non-standard legal, commercial, or risk issues to Legal with clear context and proposed next steps
- Ensure outgoing contract drafts reflect current templates, approved language, and documented contracting practices
- Collaborate with Sales to move opportunities from commercial alignment to signed deals
- Help Sales understand contract processes, customer procurement dynamics, and required information to avoid delays
- Guide internal teams toward workable paths to signature aligned with ELB’s business and delivery model
- Support renewals, expansions, and changes in scope
- Respond to customer procurement and onboarding requirements, including vendor forms, contract questions, insurance requests, and routine diligence materials
- Coordinate with Finance, Security, and other teams to gather information needed to keep deals moving
- Maintain visibility into contract status, outstanding items, and required actions
- Maintain organized contract records, status tracking, and document history
- Ensure the business is using current templates and approved forms
- Identify recurring friction points and collaborate with Legal to improve templates, fallback positions, and process guidance
- Contribute to playbooks and workflow improvements that help Sales and Legal move faster with less rework
Benefits
- Faster movement of contracts from request to signature
- Stronger Sales support in navigating contract processes, procurement steps, and customer redlines
- Early identification and resolution of potential blockers
- Legal team spends less time on administrative coordination and routine issues
- Customer agreements with reasonable, supportable, and business-aligned terms
