The Downstream Product Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives that drive product adoption, revenue growth, and market presence across the portfolio. As the subject matter expert, this role ensures product positioning, messaging, and sales tools are aligned with both customer needs and business goals. Working closely with cross-functional teams—including sales, product management, regulatory, and marketing. The Product Manager leads the execution of integrated marketing campaigns, investigates new marketing channels (including for legacy products), and manages product lifecycle decisions. The role also includes monitoring market trends and competitive dynamics, supporting sales enablement and training efforts, and representing the portfolio at trade shows and industry events. Insights and performance analysis from this role directly influence go-to-market strategies and portfolio planning.

Responsibilities & Duties:
Strategic Marketing & Portfolio Management
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to achieve business goals and increase revenue and brand awareness.
- Maintain portfolio including suggestions for discontinuation and reporting on any gaps in the portfolio.
- Maintain competitive matrix including features and pricing for all products in the portfolio.
- Provide industry trends and marketing campaigns that can affect forecasting of product for the fiscal year.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to proactively identify opportunities and threats.
- Provide quarterly and annual reports on portfolio revenue performance, incorporating historical data and trend analysis
- Report on any significant trends that may impact product performance or marketing direction.
- Alerts and works with procurement if there are products in the portfolio that are not price competitive.
- Conduct voice of customer (VOC) research to validate product positioning, messaging, and value proposition.
Channel & Campaign Marketing
- Oversee the planning and collaborate on the execution of marketing campaigns, working closely with digital, print, and event marketing teams, as well as with procurement, marketing, quality and compliance, and other relevant departments.
- Collaborate with marketing on initiatives, including SEO/SEM, email campaigns, social media, and content marketing.
- Monitor and report on campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
- Monitor, track, and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and provide feedback on the results. Investigate and propose new marketing channels for legacy products to maximize visibility and performance.
- Identify and attend trade shows, conferences, and other promotional events as a brand and product ambassador.
Sales Enablement & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, product management, and regulatory, to ensure alignment on messaging and strategy.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on the product, assisting the sales team with inquiries throughout the sales process and joining sales calls and visits as needed.
- Lead the product portfolio commercialization efforts with campaigns, new collaterals, key conferences, and events.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional departments to develop marketing collateral and key product information while leading the training of the commercial sales team on the portfolio's products
- Fosters relationships with the sales team to share industry trends and collect field feedback.
- Act as the SME for the content of all marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, videos, and other collateral.
- Ensure sales tools and marketing materials are updated, aligned with positioning, and optimized for conversion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree is an asset)
- 5+ years of experience in product marketing, downstream product management, or a related role
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful go-to-market strategies and marketing campaigns
- Strong understanding of market segmentation, positioning, and customer lifecycle strategies
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, regulatory, and product development teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create impactful marketing and sales content
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and make data-informed decisions
- Familiarity with marketing tools and platforms (e.g., CRM, marketing automation, analytics dashboards)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Comfortable presenting to internal stakeholders and representing the product at external events or trade shows
- Knowledge of the compounding landscape and customer needs
