• Performing fuel rod thermal-mechanical design analyses ensuring fuel rod mechanical integrity is maintained throughout the design lifetime • Developing and designing fuel bundle technologies for application in nuclear reactors • Performing coupled heat transfer and finite element mechanical analyses for fuel rod pellet and cladding • Collaboration with fuel mechanical design experts, material scientists, and nuclear/thermal-hydraulic analysis engineers • Establishing thermal mechanical operating limits for new and existing fuel product lines • Supporting fuel operations and addressing customer issues related to fuel pellets and cladding • Interpreting operational and test data to drive improvements in modeling and methodologies • Providing well written, well organized documented engineering analyses to assure design adequacy • Maintaining and developing technical design procedures associated with fuel rod design/analysis activities • Presenting to internal/external customers and nuclear regulators on fuel performance • Planning, status and executing projects with the team technical leader and functional manager
