Role Description
McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational resources, is looking for an Efficacy Research Specialist for our School division. The Efficacy Research Specialist is responsible for the initial phase of educational research projects and supports the launch, analysis, and communication phases. This person understands the intricacies of K-12 research and is focused on:
- Participant recruiting
- Extracting and reviewing data
- Project management
- Communication across teams
This position supports the Efficacy Research team and is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
What you will be doing:
- Manage the initial phase of research studies, including participant recruitment, data sharing agreements, internal collaboration, project schedules, and delivery of materials and incentive payments.
- Identify participant requirements, develop screening instruments, and recruit customers for research studies.
- Develop and deliver communications and presentations to key internal partners and study participants.
- Retrieve and organize data from systems such as Salesforce, Pendo, and other internal tools to identify potential research participants.
- Improve and standardize research operations processes, including tools, templates, recruiting flyers, participant screeners, procedures, and schedules.
- Conduct data retrieval and cleaning for internal analysis projects while ensuring customer data is handled securely and in compliance with PII and GDPR best practices.
- Travel may be expected up to 10% of the time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 5+ years of applicable experience.
- Proven experience recruiting for educational research studies.
- Expertise in drafting and processing data sharing agreements.
- Strong ability to craft processes and frameworks.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders, including district/school personnel, sales, marketing, product management, and research teams.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and objectives.
- Proficiency in retrieving and organizing data files from external websites and internal systems.
- Knowledge of educational research processes, methodology, ESSA evidence requirements, PII, and GDPR best practices (preferred).
- Experience with data extraction tools such as SQL or Python (preferred).
- Familiarity with databases and tools like Salesforce and Pendo (preferred).
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira and working in an Agile development environment (preferred).

- The pay range for this position is between $59,350 - $70,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
